Seasiders secure local sponsorship

Seasiders look to drive on

Bangor Football Club are proud to announce that local Hyundai dealers Sammy Mellon and Sons are the club’s official sponsors of the ladies section at Clandeboye Road in 2009.

Bangor Ladies all black away kit, will now be shelved until needed

This sponsorship package marks the continued support and endorsement of ladies football in the North Down Borough at Clandeboye Park by the present Chairman Trevor Best and the members of the Board. This support shows the vision to strive, and confidence to established Bangor as a modern, fully inclusive, progressive club in Northern Ireland.

This sponsorship by the award winning Hyundai dealers will give the local team a platform to grow and develop while proudly wearing the name of Sammy Mellon and Sons, one of the towns oldest and most respected firms in the local business community.

Back to the traditional blue and yellow jersey which has long been the signature colours of the seaside football club over many years. The kit also features the Hyundai logo along with the recognised logo of Sammy Mellon and Sons. Blue Shorts and socks complete the range.

Currently the only team in the Borough, the team are enjoying a fantastic record breaking year and currently top their divisional league table. The Seasiders will hope to progress to the semi final of the divisional cup last Tuesday night, when they will take on Ballynahinch at Bloomfield Road in the quarter final of the competition.

Back to the traditional Bangor colours

This season has seen the ladies team play the majority of their home games at Clandeboye Road. This has lifted the profile of the club sufficiently to persuade some very experienced and talented footballers away from the premier teams to sign up for the Seasiders, who are clearly developing and evolving into one of the top teams in the area.

The club will be kicking off in their new colours and will be hoping that they can continue to keep up there unbeaten run this season.

Ladies team manager, Andy Craig, “We are delighted to be associated with Sammy Mellon and Sons, who have always been staunch supporters of local and youth football in North Down.

“So to now be the main sponsors of the ladies section at Bangor Football Club indicates that Sammy Mellon and Sons recognises the sport which is at an all time high level of popularity in Northern Ireland.

“It is a great boost for the team, and in addition to the support we have received from the Board has helped us to attract such a big name as Sammy Mellons & Sons, and we hope that we can continue to represent the club to the best of our ability and bring some silverware to the club over the next few years.”

On a personal note the Committee of Bangor Ladies would also give recognition to the work of Club Captain Cathy Duncan who has been a key figure in approaching and dealing with Sammy Mellon and Sons over the last few months – and this is greatly appreciated.
